CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY

"Our bodies work around held experiences until the load becomes too great. That's when we develop symptoms. CranioSacral Therapy helps your body to release the effects of held life experiences.

 - Robyn Scherr, CST-D

The Grove Studio for Natural Healing is pleased to offer CranioSacral Therapy to our clients.   Nina Dmitrieff is a CS1 and CS2 practitioner educated through The Upledger Institute International, and a Medallion Member of the International Alliance of Healthcare Educators (IAHC).

CranioSacral Therapy is a remarkably effective light touch therapy that can help to create dramatic improvements in the one’s health and well being.  CranioSacral Therapy releases tension deep within the body relieving pain and dysfunction, improving whole body health and performance.

In a CranioSacral session you will remain fully clothed as you relax on a comfortable table.  Sessions typically last one hour.  Presently, we offer treatments to adults and children over the age of 9.  CranioSacral sessions are also suitable for the expectant mother and a terrific compliment to post operative care.

Please know that while CranioSacral Therapy is a deeply relaxing manual therapy, it should not be confused with Massage Therapy.

This is profound, nourishing, integrative and beautiful work.

CranioSacral: About

"Had my first CranioSacral Therapy (CST) session and it will not be the last. It was truly a unique experience - one word to sum it up, "trippy". It was so peaceful and quieting, both mind and body. For someone like me, with an overactive mind and stressful lifestyle, I never imagined it would be possible. Nina is very gifted, and I am grateful that she shares her gifts with others. Thanks Nina, see you again soon!"

ABOUT CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY

CranioSacral Therapy (CST) was pioneered and developed by osteopathic physician John E. Upledger following extensive scientific studies from 1975 to 1983 at Michigan State University, where he served as a clinical researcher and Professor of Biomechanics.

CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of a physiological body system called the craniosacral system - comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord.  Using a soft touch generally no greater than 5 grams, or about the weight of a nickel, practitioners release restrictions in the craniosacral system, which has been shown to improve the functioning of the central nervous system, as well as many other systems of the body, such as digestive, musculoskeletal, respiratory, circulatory, and more. CST has also been shown to help with the physical components related to such somatic conditions as Post Traumatic Stress, depression and anxiety.

By facilitating the body's natural and innate healing processes, CST is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease, and has been shown to be beneficial for people seeking help with a wide range of healthcare challenges and symptoms.

CranioSacral: About

"If you get into the body a little deeper than the very superficial symptomatic treatment, you will discover the mind."

- John E. Upledger, DO, OMM
