A recent study published in Scientific Reports (April 2025) utilized high-frequency ultrasonography to observe the thoracic duct - the body's largest lymphatic vessel - during exercise. The findings revealed that the thoracic duct's diameter significantly increased post-exercise, indicating enhanced lymphatic flow.

This research provides evidence indicating that physical activity boosts lymphatic circulation.  These results align with previous studies demonstrating that aerobic exercise improves lymphatic function by increasing vessel density, enhancing pumping capacity, and reducing leakiness, even without weight loss.

Collectively, these studies underscore the role of regular physical activity in promoting efficient lymphatic drainage and overall immune health.
