The Role of the Lymphatic System in Cholesterol Transport

Your body moves excess cholesterol from cells back to the liver for removal - this is called reverse cholesterol transport. HDL, the “good” cholesterol, collects cholesterol that has built up in cells and tissues, mostly LDL or “bad” cholesterol.
What is interesting is that: It is the lymphatic system that carries the LDL collected by HDL from the tissues into the bloodstream, where it can then be processed and eliminated by the liver.
The take away? Support your lymphatic flow + Support your liver = Support your heart.
