Lymphatic Alterations Under Tattoos

Writer's picture: Nina DmitreffNina Dmitreff

"Our work shows the presence of abnormal Lymphatic drainage under tattooed cutaneous areas in an unexpected high number of subjects. Consequently, further works are justified to define the causative factors of these lesions in a greater degree. Such lymphatic alterations should also be considered in patients with limb edema or at risk for edema."

Also worth noting: "Interstitially injected colloidal particles are known to accumulate in the regional lymph nodes."
